Prototyping Services

PSI Engineering has a small workshop that we use for fast turnaround of simple parts. We use this internally to produce prototypes and test rigs to validate our customers components and systems. With our diagnostics knowledge we have produced test rigs for friction testing for FEA input, test rigs for bolt makeup testing and custom sensors.

Turning

We offer fast turnaround using our internal capability for turning, if the material is available, we can produce parts within 24 hours.

Our internal maximum turning capacity:

300mm diameter
600mm long

For larger and highly complex items, we would use one of our manufacturing partners.

Milling

Using our internal capability we can CNC mill parts with quick turnaround. Our capabilities are:

700mm x 150mm.

For larger or highly complex parts we will use one of our manufacturing partners.

Inspection

We have measurement verification techniques available by suitably qualified personnel. Our equipment is limited to hand measurements, however where CMM is required, we have local capability we can use.

Welding

PSI Engineering have MIG welding capabilities. These services are used for our internal prototype design and external customers. Our engineers are experienced in WPS/WQPS approval and welded structure design and verification.

Jig & Fixture Design

Our engineers are available for jigs and fixture design and drawing production. We produce manufacturing drawings in accordance to BS8888, ASME Y14.5, ISO 2768, ISO 8015 & ISO 1101

Strain Gauging

We have experience in strain gage application, from heavy machinery validation to creating bespoke sensors.
